IKYA 2014 – An Intercollegiate Fest of Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology was inaugurated on 28.3.2014 at 11.00AM by Shri Saluri Koteshwara Rao, a well known and renowned Music composer of South Indian Films. Shri J V Ranga Raju, Secretary, Nagarjuna Education Society(NES), Smt. Sridevi Ranga Raju, Founder Member , NES, Sri Sekhar Raju, President, NES, Sri J Chaithanya Varma, CEO,NES and Mrs. Bhanu Chaithanya Varma, Governing Council Member, NCET, Mrs. Sowjanya Ishara Prasada, NES and Mr. AVS Raju, were present on the occasion. Dr. S G Gopala Krishna, Principal, NCET welcomed the gathering. Shri Saluri Koteshwara Rao entertained the gathering with number of Telugu, Kannada and Hindi Songs. Dr. Manjunatha K, HOD-Chemistry, proposed vote of thanks.

The inaugural event was followed by number of cultural competitions like group song, classical dance, group dance, fusion dance, battle bands, street dance, etc. Students from various engineering colleges from Bangalore participated in the events.

Spoorthi -an Inter- college Cultural & Management Fest was conducted for PG students on 15/03/14. Students from various colleges like RGIT, SJCIT, Acharya B School, Acharya Institute Of Technology, MS Ramaiah Institute for advanced studies, Nitte Meenakshi, Presidency college participated in the fest. Various events like Team games, HR event, Marketing event, Finance event & best manager events were conducted. Dr. Dwaraki, Registrar, Ramaiah Institute of Management studies was the chief guest. Honourable Principal presided over both the inaugural and valedictory functions. were distributed to winners and certificates were distributed to all the participants

The department of Management Studies conducted “BIZMANTHAN” ,an Inter- college Cultural & Management fest for UG students on 14.03.2014. Students from various colleges like REVA, Jnana Jyothi, Nagarjuna First grade college (New town, Yelahanka), Dolphin college, Preethi college( Shidlaghatta), Govt. First grade college, Govt .college for Women ,Vishnu Priya college (CB pur), Government College (Gowribidanur), participated in the fest. Events like business quiz, team game, solo singing and group dance were held. Prizes were distributed to winners and certificates were distributed to all the participants. Honourable Principal presided over both the inaugural and valedictory functions.

An Alumni Meet of NCET Computer Science Department has been organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 15.3.2014 at the Auditorium. All NCET Computer Science alumni members are cordially invited for this programme.

A farewell function was organized by the college on 19-2-2014 for Dr. K N Hari Bhat, Dean and HOD-PG-ECE, on his retirement from the service. Dr. Hari Bhat served NCET for more than 12 years and attained superannuation on 11.2.2014. The farewell function was inaugurated by Shri J Chaitanya Varma, CEO, NES and Dr. K S Deshikachar, Director, NES. Dr. S G Gopala Krishna, principal, NCET, welcomed the gathering and Dr. Jayadeva G S, HOD-ECE, proposed vote of thanks. Dr. N G S Udupa, Vice Principal and Dr. Harisha P, Dean were also present on the dias.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organised a Technical Talk on “Industrial Applications of CADD Software” on 11th February 2014. Mr. Bhanu Prakash Dixith B N , Centre Manager-Learning Solutions, EDS Technologies, Bangalore was the speaker. He highlighted the importance of learning CADD Softwares and job opportunities in IT industries.

An Awareness Programme on Postal Life Insurance by Mr. Srinivas M.J., Inspector of Post Offices, Doddaballapur Sub Division was organized on 30-01-2014 for the benefit of the Staff Members.

Student Internet World -2013 was inaugurated in the college on 10.12.2013 at 11.00 a.m. by Dr. S G Gopala Krishna Principal, NCET and Mr. Muniraju, BEO. The Programme was organized by the Government of Karnataka and NCET has joined hands to provide necessary assistance in terms of Computing facilities. Dr. Shanthakumar Patil, HOD-CSE co-ordinated the programme.
