The Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology has organized a two-week training program on “Design of composite Structures” under VTU-Mission Empower 10000 from 04th to 20th Aug 2014. This programme was inaugurated on 4th August 2014 by Dr. P K Dash, Chairman, Bangalore Aircraft Industries Ltd and Dr.K.S.Deshikachar, Director, NES, Bangalore. Mr.Kalivanan, VTU Executive Committee Member and Dr.Geo, Placement Officer, VTU have graced the occasion. Dr.N.Kapilan, Coordinator of this programme has welcomed the gathering and spoke about the training programme. Dr.S.G.Gopala Krishna, Principal-NCET, has highlighted the activities taken up by the university to empower the students to get the job and wished all the participants. The resource persons for this training programme are from industries and 45 students of various colleges have registered for this program. The officials of CADD Centre have come forward to be the technical and placement partner for this training programme.

The inaugural function of First year Classes for the year 2014-15 was organized in the college Auditorium on 1.8.2014. Shri Chaithanya Verma, CEO and Dr. K S Deshikachar, Director, Nagarjuna Education Society were present on the occasion. Dr. S G Gopala Krishna, Principal, NCET, addressed the students and informed about the counselling activities in the college.

After the inaugural ceremony, the orientation programme for the first year students was arranged. Dr. N G S Udupa, Vice Principal, NCET, addressed the students. The orientation programme will continue on Saturday also.

Mr Katsu Takahashi of Lightworks Corporation,Japan had visited NCET campus on 2nd June 2014 for collaboration with our college. The company will provide training and placement opportunities for CS and IS student.

Graduation Day for 2013.2014 batch students is arranged on 7th June 2014. All the final year students of 2013-14 are hereby invited for the said programme.

A blood Donation camp was organized in the college Auditorium on 29.04.2014 in association with Red Cross Society of India, Chickballapur.

Activities of Mechanical Department During April 2014

1. Mechanical Engineering Students interacted with Dr. Victor Goldschmidt, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, Purdue University, USA and attended his technical talk on “Thinking Like an Engineer” on 19 ^th April 2014.
2. Industrial Visit to HMT Factory was arranged for the benefit of Mechanical Engg Students on 19^th April 2014
3. Campus recruitment drive was arranged for ISHRAE Student Members of Mechanical Engineering Department on 18^th April 2014, for the M/s Sevcon India Pvt Ltd.
4. Industrial Visit to Rail Wheel Factory is arranged for the benefit of Mechanical Engg Students on 3^rd May 2014.
