A one day workshop on “Advanced Concepts in Finite Element Analysis” has been organized by the Post Graduate Department of Mechanical Engineering on 14.12.2013. Dr. Kumar K, Project Manager, Infosys Limited has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony and he also delivering an expert lecture during the programme. Mr. Padeep M, Technical Leader, General Electricals, Bangalore will be the Guest of Honour and Resource Person for the Workshop. Dr. K.S. Deshikachar, Director NES will also be the Guest of Honour. Dr. S G Gopala Krishna, Principal, NCET will preside over the function. Dr. N G S Udupa, Vice Principal and HOD(PG) will co-ordinate the programme. All P.G. Students of Mechanical Engineering and Staff Members will benefit from this programme.

A workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights” was organized by the department of Mechanical Engineering on 6.11.2013 in association with Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology. Students and Staff members for were enlightened on the subject by subject experts from the industry. Dr. Kapilan, HOD-Mech(UG) coordinated the event.
Three Days Workshop on Microchips PIC-18 by EC Dept
A Three Day Workshop on Microchips PIC-18 Microprocessors and Peripherals was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from 3.10.2013 to 5.10.2013. Dr. G.S Jayadev, HOD-EC has co-ordinated the programme. The inaugural programme was held on 3.10.2013 at 10.00 a.m. Dr. K S Deshikachar, Director-NES inaugurated the event. Dr. S G Gopala Krishna, Principal and Dr. K N Hari Bhat, Dean – NCET were present on the occasion.
Workshop on Modelling and Analysis of Computational Fluid Dynamics by Mech Dept
A one day workshop is organized by the department of Mechanical Engineering on “Modelling and Analysis of Computational Fluid Dynamics” on 21.09.2013.
Dr. N G S Udupa, Vice Principal, NCET, presided over the function. Dr. Wilson Lawrence, Manager(R & D), Ingersoll Rand, Bangalore was the Chief Guest. Dr. N Kapilan, HOD-Mech, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Siddesh M, HOD-ME(2nd Shift) proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Yogeesha H.C., Asst. Professor, was the master of ceremony for the function.
The inaugural event was followed by expert lecture from Dr. Wilson Lawrence, Manager(R&D), Ingersoll Rand and Mr. Jayashankar Ray, Engineer, MaxWatt Turbines Private Limited, Bangalore. In the Post-lunch session, Prof N Balakrishnan from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore delivered a lecture on CFD in Aerodynamics. About 128 students from 5th Semester and 7th Semester Mechanical branch participated in the workshop.

A one week Faculty Development Programme on “Advances in HVAC, Energy Conservation and Green Energy Technology” was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with ISHRAE, Bangalore chapter from 24.07.2013 to 27.07.2013. Dr. Ananth Raj, Executive Secretary, VGST, Government of Karnataka has inaugurated the programme. Shri Nirman Ram, President Elect, ISHRAE, Dr. K S Deshikachar, Director, NES and Dr. S G Gopala Krishna, Principal, NCET were present on the occasion. Experts from various industries delivered invited talks in the programme. Dr. Kapilan, HOD, Mechanical Department was the convener of the programme.
